Field trip: Karst and Caves of the Bihor Mountains

Route:

Cluj - Suncuius - Oradea - Ursilor (Bears) Cave - Garda - Scarisoara Ice Cave and return

Key-points:

karst and caves around the village of Suncuius; Bears Cave (show cave & on-going Quaternary studies); Scãrisoara Ice Cave (underground glacier & on-going Quaternary studies);

Accommodation:

hostels.

Transport:

Minibus and cars

Meals:

three meals a day, minimum one warm meal, lunch usually in the field.

Equipment:

Surface trips are easy to hike. However, bring rain coat and mountain boots. All caves we visit are show caves so not special equipment is required. A hand lamp might be useful.

Price:

€ 80, everything included.

According to your preferences we may decide to organize a one-day trip to Felix thermal Spa and Ursilor Cave, two-days trip as advertised above or both of them. Please let us know what are your options by March 31, 2007.
