Modelling of the molecular structures and establishment of the synthesis methods for substituted monomers with functional groups

A.1 Study of the synthesis methods reported in the literature for the substituted monomers (pyrrole, thiophene, aniline) with functional groups (COOH, NH2, OH)

A.2 Modelling of the molecular structures for monomers and oligomers containing attached functional groups on different sites

Functionalization of monomers (pyrrole, thiophene, aniline)

A.1 Synthesis of substituted monomers (pyrrole, thiophene, aniline) with functional groups (COOH, NH2, OH)

A.2 Investigation of the molecular structure for substituted monomers by spectrometric methods (NMR, FTIR, mass spectrometry)

A.4 Selective biofunctionalization of substituted monomers induced by the attachment of nucleotides or amino acids.

A.5 Study of the physicochemical characteristics of monomers with attached biomolecules by mass spectrometry, NMR, FTIR, XPS.

TASK III — dead line   10.12.2006

Synthesis and characterization of functionalized polymers

A.1 Establishment of the suitable synthesis method of functionalized conjugated polymers: polypyrrole, polythiophene, polyaniline.

A.2 Investigation of the functionalized polymers morphology by electronic microscopy (TEM, SEM).

A.3 Study of the correlation between the synthesis parameters and the structure of functionalized polymers by XPS, FTIR, NMR.

TASK IV — dead line   30.03.2007

Development and testing of the synthesis method for functionalized polymers (polypyrrole, polythiphene, polyaniline).

 

TASK V — dead line 10.12.2007

Functionalization of nanocomposites based on conjugated polymer and magnetic nanofluid

A.1 Synthesis and characterization of magnetic nanofluids sterically stabilized with different surfactants in various dispersion media.

A.2 Synthesis of nanocomposites conjugated polymer- magnetic nanofluid functionalized with COOH, NH2 and OH.

A.3 Characterization of functionalized magnetic nanocomposites by electronic microscopy, dynamic light scattering, XPS, magnetisation.

TASK VI — dead line  30.05.2008

Preparation of magnetic nanocomposites with bioactive surface

A.1 Establishing the synthesis method for magnetic nanocomposites with bioactive surface.

A.2 Controlled modification of physicochemical properties of magnetic nanocomposites by the synthesis parameters variation

TASK VII — dead line   15.10.2008

Testing the potential applications of functionalized polymeric structures and nanocomposites for molecular recognition and magnetic separation

A.1 Study of the specific intermolecular interactions between the functionalized polymers and different biomolecules (oligonucleotides, peptides)

A.2 Assessment of magnetic nanocomposites suitability for microfluidic separation of blood cells.
