Project description
The project “Enhancing the research, business and policy cooperation in green transition between Romania and Norway” will contribute to the following area(s) of cooperation in the Call for Project Proposals:
- Renewable energy and other forms of clean energy solutions.
Through this Partnership Agreement, the Project Promoter and the Project Partners have established a clear framework for their collaboration. The agreement outlines the tasks and responsibilities of each party, as well as the internal procedures for carrying out the work. This agreement serves to govern the relations between the parties within the Partnership, ensuring a successful completion of the project.
Objectives
The initiative contributes to the green transition through a multifaceted approach that includes promoting sustainable practices, improving resource efficiency, reducing carbon footprints, supporting renewable energy, fostering green innovation, raising environmental awareness, encouraging circular economy practices, forming sustainable partnerships, and advocating for supportive policies. These efforts collectively drive progress towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
Activities
A1. Joint Research Initiatives
- Increase collaborative research projects between research institutions, and companies from Romania and Norway focusing on renewable energy technologies, energy storage including batteries, energy transition and climate change adaptation.
- Facilitate research exchanges and joint workshops to share expertise, resources, and best practices in green technologies and sustainable development.
- Exchange visits to increase collaboration among researchers, entrepreneurs, and startups from Romania and Norway in developing cutting-edge solutions for green transition and climate action. (one in Romania and one in Norway)
A2. Business Matchmaking Events
- Arrange business forums and networking events bringing together companies and startups from Romania and Norway operating in renewable energy, clean technologies, and environmental solutions.
- Foster partnerships, joint ventures, and technology transfer agreements to accelerate the adoption of sustainable business practices and green innovations.
A3. Policy Dialogue and Exchange
- Host policy roundtables and workshops involving government representatives, policymakers, and experts from Romania and Norway to discuss regulatory frameworks, incentives, and policy mechanisms supporting the green transition.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange and peer-learning opportunities on successful policies, strategies, and initiatives implemented in both countries to promote sustainability and combat climate change.
A4. Capacity Building Workshops
- Conduct training sessions and capacity-building workshops for stakeholders from Romania and Norway on topics such as renewable energy deployment, eco-friendly practices, and climate resilience strategies. (online)
- Provide technical assistance and expertise to support the development and implementation of green projects and initiatives at local, regional, and national levels.
- Using online platforms and knowledge-sharing networks to facilitate ongoing communication, collaboration, and information exchange between stakeholders from Romania and Norway involved in green transition efforts. (b2b matchmaking platform)
- Curate and disseminate resources, research findings, case studies, and success stories to inspire and inform policymakers, businesses, academia, and civil society organizations about effective strategies and innovative approaches for achieving sustainable development goals.

- Supported the development of cutting-edge solutions for environmental sustainability and climate action, with promising projects receiving funding, mentorship, and incubation support for scalable impact in advancing the green transition.

- Strengthened partnerships and increased collaboration between companies and startups from Romania and Norway in the renewable energy, clean technologies, and environmental sectors.
- Facilitated the establishment of joint ventures, technology transfer agreements, and business partnerships, leading to the accelerated adoption of sustainable business practices and the implementation of green innovations.
A3. Policy Dialogue and Exchange
- Informed policy decisions and regulatory frameworks supporting the green transition in both Romania and Norway through policy roundtables and workshops involving government representatives, policymakers, and experts.
- Enhanced understanding and knowledge exchange on successful policies and strategies for sustainability and climate change mitigation, resulting in the development of more effective and impactful initiatives.
A4. Capacity Building Workshops
- Improved stakeholder capacity and expertise in renewable energy deployment, eco-friendly practices, and climate resilience strategies through training sessions and capacity-building workshops.

The initiative's focus on cooperation in quality partnerships with mutual interests involves a
comprehensive
approach where the applicant and partner(s) jointly plan, implement, and benefit from activities. This
collaborative process ensures that the initiative is well-supported, effectively executed, and mutually
advantageous, leading to sustainable and impactful outcomes in energy efficiency and green transition.
A cooperation project between Romania and Norway in the green transition domain can yield a wide range of
results and benefits, including technological advancements, policy development,
capacity building, and sustainable development impact. The applicant stands to gain valuable
knowledge, expertise,
networking opportunities, and tangible outcomes that contribute to their organizational goals and
objectives.
