Objectives

In this project, we aim to achieve enhanced collective molecular emission through the coupling with nano-structured metallic surfaces.

The specific objectives are:

A first objective is to theoretically (numerically) investigate, understand and design nano-structures able to favour the collective optical response of an ensemble of quantum emitters. Based on this understanding, our second objective is to synthesize several types of metallic substrates via bottom-up approaches for studying the collective optical response of an ensemble of fluorophores. Our third objective is to be able to measure the increased collective decay rates, as a function of dielectric spacing and dyes’ proximity. Our fourth objective will be to apply our full new understanding to explore some niche advanced application (e,g, sensing, new light sources, smart anticounterfeiting tags).
