Project's Objective:

Reaching a TRL level of 4 on the TRL scale as starting from TRL 2, with the design and proof-of-concept of the microfluidic portable device for pathogens' rapid SERS detection and ending with its validation in laboratory conditions, proving its practical potential and use.

Objectives:

  • Development of the experimental setup.
  • Optimization and validation of the SERS detection methodology by using the developed device.
  • Rapid SERS detection and identification of pathogens by using the portable device.
  • Validation of the experimental demonstrator and intellectual property rights registration.

Estimated results:

  • Design of the microfluidic flow cell.
  • Microfluidic flow cell connected to a flowing system.

  • Functional experimental demonstrator.

  • Optimized experimental parameters for the SERS detection with the developed microfluidic system.
  • Validated detection method using the developed microfluidic system in laboratory conditions.
