All submissions should be written in English with a maximum paper length of 4 pages.
Manuscript templates for conference proceedings should be used and can be
downloaded here:

One author can register maximum 2 (two) papers.
The papers should be emailed to rolcg2012@itim-cj.ro.

IEEE PDF eXpress is an IEEE-sponsored online tool, freely available to assist conference organizers and authors in complying with the latest IEEE requirement for PDF files.

To access IEEE PDF eXpress service for RO-LCG 2012, go to express pdf

IEEE PDF eXpress will:

  • convert a wide range of application formats to IEEE Xplore -compatible PDFs (conversion function),
  • check author-created PDFs and report whether or not they are IEEE Xplore-compatible (PDF check function), and
  • provide assistance to correct problems with PDFs.

Steps for submission:

  1. Create your manuscript(s).
  2. Proof-read and check layout of manuscript (do this before going to IEEE PDF eXpress).
  3. Create IEEE PDF eXpress account.
  4. Upload source file(s) for Conversion; and/or PDF(s) for Checking.
  5. Use IEEE PDF eXpress to attain IEEE Xplore -compatible PDF(s).
    The site contains extensive instructions.
  6. Submit final, IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF(s).
    The deadline for submitting camera-ready submission is September 25, 2012.

Detailed instructions for accessing and using the IEEE PDF eXpress site:

  1. Access the IEEE PDF eXpress site
  2. First-time users: Previous users, but using it the first time for a new conference: Returning users:
    a. Click "New Users - Click Here". a. Enter rolcg2012x for the Conference ID, your email address, and enter the password you used for your old account. a. Enter rolcg2012x for the Conference ID, email address and password.
    b. Enter rolcg2012x for the Conference ID, your email address, and choose a new password. Continue to enter information as prompted. b. When you click "Login", you'll receive an error saying you need to set up an account. Simply click "Continue". By entering your previously used email address and password combination, you will enable your old account for access to this new conference.  
    c. Check that the contact information is still valid, and click "Submit". c. You will receive online and email confirmation of successful account setup.

  3. For each conference paper, click "Create New Title".
  4. Enter identifying text for the paper (title is recommended but not required)
  5. Click "Submit PDF for Checking" or "Submit Source Files for Conversion"
  6. Indicate platform, source file type (if applicable), click Browse and navigate to file, and click "Upload File". You will receive online and email confirmation of successful upload
  7. You will receive an email with your Checked PDF or IEEE PDF eXpress-converted PDF attached. If you submitted a PDF for Checking, the email will show if your file passed or failed.

If the PDF submitted fails:

  1. Submit your source file for conversion by clicking "Try Again", and then "Submit Source Files for Conversion", or
  2. Read the PDF Check report, then click "The PDF Check Report" in the sidebar to get information on possible solutions, or
  3. "Request Technical Help" through your account.

If you are not satisfied with the IEEE PDF eXpress-converted PDF:

  1. Resubmit your source file with corrections ("Try Again" then "Submit Source Files for Conversion"), or
  2. Submit a PDF by clicking "Try Again" then "Submit PDF for Checking", or
  3. "Request a Manual Conversion" through your account.

If the PDF submitted passed the PDF Check, or you are satisfied with your IEEE PDF eXpress-converted PDF:

  1. Submit your IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF to the designated paper submission site given in your acceptance email from the Program Chair.

Acceptable File Types for Conversion

IEEE PDF eXpress converts the following application formats to PDF:

  • Microsoft Word
  • WordPerfect
  • Rich Text Format
  • Freelance
  • (La)TeX (A DVI and supported image files must be included in a compressed archive)
  • PageMaker (images should not be embedded, included with main file in a compressed archive)
  • FrameMaker
  • Word Pro
  • Quark (*.qxd and images files must be included in a compressed archive)
