Water is the source of life and an essential resource for human survival. With fast socio economic development and increasing population across the world, water environment crisis has drawn widespread concern for humanity nowadays. An improvement of water supply and sanitation, and a better management of water resources, especially in terms of water reuse, can greatly contribute to poverty reduction and can boost economic growth in low-income countries. Responding to these requirements the need of adopting new environmentally friendly technologies is necessary. Taking into account the state of the art in the field and the scientific results obtained in the last years by our research team, in this project we intend to develop photoactive ultrafiltration PVDF membranes modified with ZnO-MFe2O4 for water decontamination using advanced oxidation and separation processes.
