The main motivation for the construction of the device for cold plasma disinfection of the bars and handles of public transport started from the situation with the last global pandemic. The main difference (compared to commercial devices) and implicitly the innovative element of our system, consists in the fact that it presents a "monobloc" type construction: the main body (1) contains the high voltage source together with the control electronics, and the cold plasma applicator, mounted on the front. A power variator is mounted in the handle (2) for precise control of the cold plasma treatment. The second element of novelty is the unique design of the cold plasma applicator itself, an applicator developed within the project (patent RO-133593A0).
The use of the device was designed be very simple, the operator follows with the plasma applicator the contour of the support bars of a means of public transport, in order to obtain their disinfection, under the effect of the particles and active species generated in the volume of the electric discharge.

The mobile installation for cold plasma disinfection of floors, is developed within our project, with the ultimate goal of being used in hospitals and/or institutions where microbiological contamination must be minimized.
The plasma applicator part (the head that generates the electrical discharge) of the facility was designed to be an interchangeable tool that can also be retrofitted to a mobile disinfection robot for operation in conjunction with other disinfection methods. The ultimate goal is for the robot to use the various disinfection tools and manage the process autonomously, making it an integral part of standard disinfection operations in the near future. Considering a standard cleaning/disinfection sequence in a hospital, the use of cold plasma technology for disinfection should always be the last step in the disinfection process. Cold plasma becomes an additional "tool", because organic matter and dirt must be removed before applying this technology. However, surfaces where there is no visible contamination can be perfectly disinfected in this way.
