The major objective of “Portable integrated system for rapid and selective Sunset Yellow Detection” project targets the development and validation of a laboratory technology for the fabrication of a low cost sensing platform for selective detection of small Sunset Yellow concentrations from commercially available food and beverage products. The core mission of PORTA-SYD project is to improve an already developed concept model, testing the full ability of a new nanocomposite material (based on chitosan and graphene), to take the idea further, and to overcome the limits of laboratory research by producing a fully integrated innovative electronic solution, in the form of an adapted miniaturized portable device capable of detecting with high accuracy, sensitivity and selectivity trace levels of SY from real samples.
